dblp-mcp: A Model Context Protocol Server for the DBLP Computer Science Bibliography
Technical report (Zenodo), 2026. doi:10.5281/zenodo.20024306
Abstract
We present dblp-mcp , an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes the DBLP computer-science bibliography to language-model agents. DBLP is the de-facto canonical CS bibliography: every major conference and journal is indexed, and authors are disambiguated by hand by the DBLP team rather than by heuristics. The server provides seven tools across publication, author, and venue search, plus full author-page extraction via DBLP's XML feed. We validate the server against a real high-volume CS researcher (1,232 publications). The package is available as pip install dblp-mcp at github.com/OpenCodice-Research/dblp-mcp .
